Who we are · Bengaluru, India

The people behind your first engineering team.

We help founders and CTOs hire founding engineers, AI specialists and engineering leaders. We start with what your next hire needs to build, then look for evidence they can own it.

01 / Our story

The first hires shape how a startup builds.

Early engineers choose what to ship, which shortcuts the team can live with, and how much ownership people take when the plan changes. Those choices shape the team long after the first release.

Grizmo Labs started in Bengaluru to help founders make those decisions with clearer evidence. We bring the same approach to specialist AI searches, engineering leadership and global teams hiring from India.

Company purpose

Our mission and vision.

Mission

To design and deploy the world-class technical teams that build category-defining companies, giving every founder building something real the same access to talent the best-connected startups already have.

Vision

To become the infrastructure layer for technical talent architecture — a world where every startup builds its engineering team by design, not guesswork, whether that founder is in Bengaluru or Berlin.

How we put it into practice.

Innovation
Use AI to surface evidence, then have a recruiter check what it means for the role.
Excellence
Hold each shortlist to the standard the team’s next milestone requires.
Integrity
Raise concerns about a candidate early, even when it could cost us the placement.
Customer success
Follow up after the hire to understand how the person is settling into the role.
Collaboration
Agree on what good looks like with founders and hiring managers before sourcing begins.
Continuous learning
Update how we assess specialist roles as the work and tools change.

02 / The Grizmo Difference

How we decide who makes the shortlist.

Your mandate at the center. A search built around it.

01 / Role brief

Start with the next milestone.

Agree on what the hire should own, what success looks like in the first 90 days, and what the team needs now.

02 / FEMQ™

Assess how founding engineers work.

Look at ownership, product judgment and decisions under uncertainty. Explore FEMQ™.

03 / AI work evidence

Ask what the candidate actually built.

For core AI, ask what changed in the model and which metric moved. For applied AI, ask what shipped and how failures were handled.

04 / Candidate brief

Make the shortlist useful in interviews.

Explain why each candidate fits, what supports that view and which questions the hiring team should probe next.

Mandate: Own the first production release of a document review workflow. Evidence to look for: A shipped workflow with an evaluation set, a fallback path and a clear account of the candidate’s ownership. Probe next: Which failure cases changed the release decision?

03 / How Grizmo Labs Works

From what you need to build to who can own it.

Whether you’re hiring your first engineer, adding an AI specialist or looking for an engineering leader, you’ll know what we’re looking for, why each candidate made the shortlist, and what to ask in the interview.

  1. Define the mission.

We agree on what the hire should own, what success looks like in the first 90 days, and which skills the team needs from day one.

What you getA shared search brief

  2. Map the talent market.

We look for people who’ve solved similar problems at a comparable stage or scale. We use what we learn about availability, compensation and notice periods to refine the search with you.

What you getA focused search and market feedback

  3. Bring evidence to the shortlist.

For a founding engineer, we look at what they shipped and which trade-offs they owned. For an AI specialist, we dig into the model or workflow they built, how they evaluated it and what changed.

What you getCandidate briefs with evidence and questions to probe

  4. Keep the hire moving.

We coordinate interviews, use your feedback to sharpen the search, and stay close to the candidate through offer discussions and joining.
